What we do
Otometri Ltd. develops, manufactures and distributes the Otometri®, which is patent pending, revolutionary ear infection measurement and follow-up solution for families. The solution consists of an Otometri® measurement device for mobile phone, Otometri mobile app and a cloud-based artificial intelligence that takes the data from the app, performs analysis and delivers the result back to the app. The solution will meet regulatory requirements of the Medical Devices Directive (MDD IIa-class) and it will be available in Q2/2019.
Otometri® is proven to reduce the need for visits to the doctor, reducing costs and time for consumers and increasing effectiveness and quality of the health care processes in high spontaneously recovering middle ear infections.

Manne Hannula, Founder and CEO, Member of the board
Manne Hannula, Dr. Tech, is the founder and CEO of Otometri. Manne is active in the development of new business in medical engineering and he is the is author of numerous research papers, patent applications and patents.
Artificial intelligence and sensor data applications are the special strength in his technical portfolio. Manne enjoys leading Otometri’s cloud-based network of teams that are time and place independent. He is proud of his great multidisciplinary team, fulfilled with experts and talented people.

Pentti Kuronen, Chairman of the board
Pentti Kuronen, MD, PhD, is a retired Surgeon General (MajGen) of the Finnish Defence Forces. He was the former Surgeon General of the Finnish Air Force. He has a lot of practice in aviation medicine including his thesis, which focused on the aviation audiology of military pilots.
In addition, he has a long practice in private medicine as General Practice and Occupational Health Service specialist. He has been also a co-founder of Terveystalo health care corporation. Nowadays, he is very much focused on innovative medical solutions supported by digitalization and artificial intelligence.
Esko Alasaarela, Member of the board
Esko Alasaarela is Professor Emeritus in Health and Wellness Measurements in the University of Oulu, Finland, and Visiting Professor in Dongseo University, Busan, South Korea. He is also the inventor of several patents and holds a position as a founder, investor and board member of some innovative companies in Finland.
Esko loves to think creative and positive scenarios to solve the world-wide problems of the ill-being and suffering people.
Olli-Matti Nevalainen, Director, Finance
Olli-Matti Nevalainen is responsible for the acquisition of funding at Otometri. He has a background as a management consultant and an entrepreneur. He has written academic papers on collaboration between start-up companies and funders.
Olli-Matti has B.Sc degrees both in economics and business administration and in computer science. He as a M.Sc. degree in economics and business administration and he is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Eastern Finland.

Iikka Nissi, SW
Iikka Nissi is a Bachelor of Engineering from Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Graduated from Degree Programme in Information Technology and Telecommunications, Option of Medical Engineering.
His thesis focused on the quality management system in Otometri Ltd. Since 2016, he has been in charge of the mobile software and quality management system to this day. Currently, he is a MHSc student in Medical and Wellness Technology at the University of Oulu.
Tuomas Holma, Medical Adviser
Tuomas Holma (MD, PhD) is medical adviser in a field of otolaryngology (ENT).
Tiina Tuominen, Customer Service
Tiina Tuominen is a medical engineer and has been working in Otometri team since 2011. She is responsible for customer service. She is currently studying BBA degree in Tampere.
Teemu Pyykölä, SW
Teemu Pyykölä is responsible for server software in Otometri. Teemu has received his M.Sc. in Information processing science from the University of Oulu. His major was software development.
